Extra seating, floor lamps and large kitchen appliances are common move-in regrets because the room already supplies a chair or prohibits the appliance.
Wait for exact measurements before buying under-bed bins or a rug. Dorm listings rarely show the usable clearance.
Coordinate before duplicating
Roommates need one shared message about cleaning supplies, a kettle and larger electronics. Duplicate items take up the most valuable storage.
Keep receipts and packaging until the room is settled so unnecessary items can go back instead of becoming clutter.
Use a four-way packing decision
Every large item should earn the space it occupies.
